The carrier will offer no-cost fast onboard wifi by way of Starlink deal

Flyers flying with British Airways are set to enjoy high-speed wifi during flights without charge due to a new deal with Elon Musk's space provider.

Complimentary plus Quick Connectivity Available to Everyone

The carrier announced that this complimentary, “fast and dependable” connectivity offering via SpaceX will be offered to customers flying coach, business, and premium cabins starting next month.

Broad Rollout Across Several Carriers

The parent company of British Airways, the airline group, stated it had finalized an agreement involving Starlink for providing internet coverage for 500-plus aircraft within their airlines, which also include the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and Vueling.

Seamless Wifi from Gate to Landing

The airline explained that this rollout of the service formed part of a multi-billion pound “upgrade” program and would provide lag-free internet access for passengers starting at boarding to arrival, including when they are flying over seas and isolated areas.

Customers can connect numerous devices and they will not require a unique login.

“Gamechanging for British Airways as well as passengers, improving onboard service during flights with us by giving customers smooth connectivity from gate to gate.”

Existing Connectivity Offerings

Basic connectivity service is currently available to British Airways flyers on nearly all of its jets through its .air service.

Enrollees of the airline's frequent flyer program are able to send messages plus text-only messages onboard free of charge, while passengers looking to access audio, films, and films during their flight if not flying in business or first may be charged from £4.99 to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for a wifi package.
